I’m still dancing – yep. So glad you can’t actually see me, because it is not a pretty sight, but I hit my 50K on my challenge book, Getting Close to the Omega, yesterday. Today, clearly energized by the dancing, I got another 6K done on the same book and the story is going well. I am on track to hit the 80K mark by the end of the month, which was my personal goal for this challenge.
My other book is also going well, although at a slower pace. Get off my Case is currently sitting at 56K which is awesome. I had originally thought that the book would be around 60K finished but now I am not so sure. It may be longer. I am at that stage in this book where, I want to finish it, and could probably do that in another couple of chapters. But as a reader I hate books that rush the ending, so I am determined to play this out, slowly and steadily, until it is done. Haven’t got a clue what the final word count for this will be, but I do want it finished by the end of the month.
Now I’ve gotten over my stuck period, I am feeling really good about what I’m writing, and my word counts. Last week (seven days) I wrote over 32K and yet none of it seemed forced, or anything like that. Of course I will have to do some extensive editing at the end of the month, but for now I am happy the stories are coming together – along with my MCs 🙂
How’s your challenge going?
