I am just coming off of the high I achieved two days ago – finishing Get off my Case, which as those of you who have been following me know, is one of two books that I decided to write this month. Get off my Case (GOMC) finished at 69,597 words, but it will probably be a few thousand words more when I have edited it. I always seem to add a few more details during the editing process.
I am also really thrilled that I got my novel, that I signed up to the challenge to do, verified yesterday and I am now officially a NaNoWriMo winner. Getting Close to the Omega, Book 5 of the Cloverleah Pack series, is now just over 70K, as of today, and I am closing into the home stretch. I will be sorry to finish this book, honestly, because I do love Dean, my main MC and he changes so much during the course of the story. But of course, Dean will show up in the subsequent books. In fact Kane and Shawn got a lot of word count in this book, as the Alpha and Alpha Mate of the Cloverleah pack, and Damien and Scott make a brief appearance as well.
I have eight days left to finish my second book, and barring act of God, it looks like that will happen. I have to admit that I have been running on pure adrenalin for the past three weeks, and I won’t be sorry to get to month’s end. But if I can have two finished books by November 30th, then I will be doubly thrilled.
So how are you doing with your challenge? Are you still slogging on silently, praying for the end of the month, or did you give up because your real life got in the way? I’d love to hear from you so either comment below, or send me an email (yoursintuitively at gmail dot com). Writing is a solitary occupation and sometimes it is nice to connect with others.
